Overcoming the fear of ‘Going Live’.

I once heard that fear can be defined as ‘false evidence appearing real’. I particularly love this quote by Rachel Huber, “Fear is the brain’s way of saying there is something important for you to overcome.” That for me is powerful because we hear so many stories of people who have allowed fear to hold them back from moving to the next level. Fear has held them back from making that proposal, from going on that trip, from having that baby. Fear has held so many people back from things that would have propelled them to the next level.

My question for you today is, Are you one of them? Are you sitting on the sidelines and allowing the fear of what might happen when you go live to hold you back? This might be the fear of you running out of what to say; fear of people not showing up; fear of people not liking you; fear of your phone falling off (I’ve had this experience before, and I just picked up my phone and went on with my show, because the show must go on).

I am glad you are reading this because this is about fearless livestreaming. I want to take you from the point of being afraid to overcoming the fear and becoming a fearless livestreaming Rockstar.

Richie Norton says, “To escape fear, you have to go through it not around it.” That is why you must take action.

Everything you want is on the other side of fear. If anyone told me that I would be exactly where I am today, 24 months later, I wouldn’t believe it. But imagine if I had allowed fear to hold me back. Perhaps, I would have been one of the many faces of people who God has blessed with so much potential, but are not leveraging the platforms that would allow them to be heard or seen. I would just be that stay-at-home mum, just doing my thing.

But because I decided to do it afraid, I am here today. I was afraid, I won’t deceive you. I can sound confident during live videos today, because I have done it so many times, but I started afraid. Sometimes, I still get the gitters, but I look at the countless number of people I’ve been able to influence. I look at the feedbacks, “Oh Naomi, you’re such an inspiration, because you started, now I can do this.” That keeps me going.

My question for you today is:

Is fear worth it?

Is fear worth your not being exactly where you should be?

Think about all the lives that could have been impacted by your message, passion, business and all that God has blessed you with. Is fear worth it?

Close your eyes for a minute and imagine what’s possible. Imagine your business going from local to international. Imagine all the doors that are opening for you to become a key speaker or to have a workshop. Imagine how people would be wondering for the first time, “Where has he been all the while? Where are you just coming out from?” But you have been here all along, but not just being as visible as you should be.

Maybe you are already visible, you’re already doing great stuff, but there’s room for more, more growth, more knowledge. This is another platform for you to take your business, your brand and your service to the next level. Why don’t you take advantage of it?

Imagine what’s possible, imagine getting invitation to speak in countries around Africa and other parts of the world. Imagine being on CNN Africa. Imagine climbing the stage.

Let me share this with you, She Forum 2015, I was one of the speakers. But in 2014, I was applying, finding out how much it would cost me to attend. How did I go from applying to attend an event, to becoming one of the speakers on the panel with Tara Fela Durotoye and some other lady who had been in business for well over 40 years. Here I was about a year and half into livestreaming. How did I go from that girl (in 2014) to this other girl that everyone was inspired by?

If you can overcome fear, you can conquer all, if you can let go of everything that is holding you back. This is for you even if you have started livestreaming already. You’ve got to be consistent. You can’t start today and stop tomorrow. You are not going to see the results that way. I will not deceive you. One of the things I do is to give it to you raw, as it is. I am not holding anything back.

I want you to see that it’s possible to overcome fear, so that you can conquer all. You can take territories, you can take all the nations,  because it’s possible. It is possible
